Lookin out from the inside of a very thin line
Seeing doubt floating in your eyes and in your mind
Looking at the candle
Burnin at both ends
We hold the anvil an
The tin man mends
Fix me with your heart of gold all over again
Tin man fixes your broken heart can you let him in
With pieces of his passion an
Some odds and ends
We hold the anvil an
The Tin Man mends
Whispers screamin at you falling on deaf ears
A liars words will see the truth somewhere in the years
Looking at the candle
Burnin at both ends
We hold the anvil an
The Tin Man mends
Tin Man is a song about healing, in a world that can be very cruel, we all need help at times to heal our injured spirits. The Tin Man can heal you but only with your help, you must want to be healed in order for him to work his magic. At the time I wrote this song I was trying to help someone but they weren’t trying to help themselves, because of this I was unable to help them. I realized that I too wanted help and was slowly destroying myself, unwilling to help myself. I saw myself as the ‘Tin Man’ wanting to fix the world yet needing to be fixed as well. I could see that I was ‘burning the candle at both ends’ and that I needed to ‘hold the anvil’ so the Tin Man could ‘fix’ me as well.
