About My Photographer
About ten years ago, I was looking for a good photographer to create a photo from an idea that I had, it was for a demo I had recorded. I had written a song called ‘Splitting Image’ (wow déjà vu!) and it was the title track so I wanted a picture of a splitting image (mine). The music was half acoustic and half electric so I wanted the photo to be me with an electric guitar in one half and acoustic guitar in the other half. The picture below is what he came up with, the flames were his artistic touch (totally rock an roll!). How he did the photo is a trade secret (if I tell you I have to kill you), but I have to tell you I was impressed all the way around. His name is Richard Dorbin and his company is called Paragon Light. My search for a photographer had led me to an artist and as it turned out we were in the same class in high school, the class of…..uh, never mind what year (another trade secret).

So now it’s 2008 and I’m releasing my second cd since I’ve returned to the stage, and I had another idea for a cool cover pic for the cd. Coolness is a prerequisite for cd covers and Richard specializes in cool. I contacted him and once again coolness lives! If you go to his website and check out his galleries (click the link) you will see what I mean, his use of lighting and his eye for detail brings life to his works, he’s even a really nice guy! If you need any kind of photos be it portraits, landscapes, cd covers or whatever you dream up you need to call this man!! Five stars for Richard Dorbin! *****
